For me it's always a long bed. I like big rigs short, like these

With that gen S truck I like both equally.

A lot of short beds look weird to me. On the compact trucks like the S10 they're okay, but wider trucks they look flat out odd

Long bed or buy a car. Trucks are for hauling stuff bigger than grocery bags. A friend bought an F-150 with crew cab and then put a toolbox in it. It has about enough room for 3 bags of Quik-crete. Useless, in my opinion.
